Privacy Policy
Ev3nly is an offline-first expense splitting app. Your group data is stored on your device by default. If you choose to sign in and use cloud backup, we store backups in our cloud database so you can restore on a new device.
This policy is provided for app-store readiness. You should review and customize it for your business, including adding a real support contact.
What we collect
- Camera access (optional): if you use the QR scanner to join a group, the app requests camera permission to read QR codes. Camera frames are processed on-device and are not stored or uploaded.
- Invite links (you choose to share): Ev3nly can generate invite links/QR codes that include basic group information (like group name and member display names) so others can join. These invites are generated on your device.
- Local app data (on your device): groups, members, expenses, settlements, and payment handles you enter (e.g., Venmo/Cash App/Zelle/PayPal).
- Account data (if you sign in): your email and a profile record used to manage cloud features and subscription status.
- Cloud backups (Plus, optional): when you use cloud backup, we store a backup payload for your account so you can restore later.
- Basic analytics: if you sign in, we may store product events (for example, sign-in, paywall opens, and backup/restore actions) to improve conversion and reliability.
What we do not collect
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not process your payments to other people; we only help generate links or display handles you provide.
Payments & subscriptions
Paid features (Pro/Plus) may be processed by:
- Web: Stripe Checkout
- iOS/Android: Apple App Store / Google Play (via RevenueCat)
Payment details are handled by these providers. We store only the minimum needed to understand whether paid access is active.
How we use your information
- To provide optional cloud backup/restore.
- To determine paid entitlement and enable paid features.
- To prevent abuse and keep the service reliable.
- To improve the app (for example, by analyzing anonymized event trends).
Where data is stored
- On-device: stored locally in your browser/app storage (IndexedDB). Clearing browser data or uninstalling the app may remove local data.
- Cloud (optional): cloud backups and account data are stored using Supabase.
Data deletion
You can delete your cloud account (and associated cloud backups) from within the app settings if you are signed in.
For step-by-step instructions (including if you can’t access the app), see: Account deletion.
Local data is stored on your device. You can remove it by deleting groups in the app, or by clearing the app/browser storage.
